Karpal t\u00fcnel sendromu genellikle bilekten ele do\u011fru ba\u015fparmak ve ilk 3. ve 5. parma\u011f\u0131 i\u00e7ine alan uyu\u015fukluk, kar\u0131ncalanma ve s\u0131zlama ile ba\u015flar. \u0130lerleyen d\u00f6nemlerde bu a\u011fr\u0131 belirgin hale gelir. A\u011fr\u0131 sadece ele de\u011fil, yukar\u0131 do\u011fru dirsek, \u00fcst kol hatta omuza kadar yay\u0131l\u0131r. Bunun d\u0131\u015f\u0131nda ellerini fazla kullanarak ve zorlayarak i\u015f yapanlarda, i\u015fi gere\u011fi \u00e7ok s\u0131k bilgisayar kullananlarda, m\u00fczik aleti \u00e7alanlarda, marangoz, bah\u00e7\u0131van gibi a\u011f\u0131r el aletleriyle \u00e7al\u0131\u015fanlarda, titre\u015fimli el aletleri kullanan teknisyenlerde, kilolularda, alkol alanlarda, \u015feker hastal\u0131\u011f\u0131 ve damarsal hastal\u0131klarda normal durumlardan daha s\u0131k g\u00f6r\u00fclebilir. Bunun i\u00e7in \u00f6ncelikle el ve el bilekleri zorlayan i\u015flerden ka\u00e7\u0131n\u0131lmas\u0131, a\u015f\u0131r\u0131 zorlanma yap\u0131lmamas\u0131 gerekir. Meslek nedeni ile el ve parmaklar\u0131n\u0131 kullanan ki\u015filerde el bile\u011fini s\u00fcrekli b\u00fck\u00fcl\u00fc \u015fekilde tutmamak gerekir. Ayr\u0131ca \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma ortam\u0131n\u0131 ergonomik \u015fekilde d\u00fczenlemek, el ve bilekleri d\u00fczenli olarak hareket ettirmek, elleri daima s\u0131cak tutmak, bilgisayar kullan\u0131m\u0131nda uygun mouse kullanmak, bile\u011fe y\u00fck bindirecek \u015fekilde masaya dayamamak, a\u011f\u0131r y\u00fck kald\u0131rmamak gerekir.
