Enerji 1999 sonras\u0131 g\u00fcneye akt\u0131, bu y\u00fczden as\u0131l stres \u00c7\u0131narc\u0131k-Esenk\u00f6y-Bozburun hatt\u0131nda yo\u011funla\u015f\u0131yor\u201d dedi. \u00dc\u015f\u00fcmezsoy\u2019a g\u00f6re, uzun s\u00fcredir dillendirilen \u201c\u0130stanbul merkezli b\u00fcy\u00fck deprem\u201d s\u00f6ylemi bilimsel verilerle tam olarak \u00f6rt\u00fc\u015fm\u00fcyor. Yalova \u00e7evresinde yer alan fay hatlar\u0131n\u0131 de\u011ferlendiren \u00dc\u015f\u00fcmezsoy, 1894 y\u0131l\u0131nda k\u0131r\u0131lan Yalova-\u00c7\u0131narc\u0131k hatt\u0131n\u0131n bug\u00fcn b\u00fcy\u00fck bir stres ta\u015f\u0131mad\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131, ancak hemen g\u00fcneyinde yer alan Bozburun Fay\u0131\u2019n\u0131n dikkatle izlenmesi gerekti\u011fini s\u00f6yledi. \u201cTe\u015fvikiye\u2019den Esenk\u00f6y\u2019e uzanan segment, Marmara\u2019n\u0131n g\u00fcneyinde en riskli hatlardan biridir. Bu hatt\u0131n k\u0131r\u0131lmas\u0131 halinde 6.5 ila 7 b\u00fcy\u00fckl\u00fc\u011f\u00fcnde bir deprem beklenebilir\u201d ifadelerini kulland\u0131. \u00dc\u015f\u00fcmezsoy ayr\u0131ca, olas\u0131 bir G\u00fcney Marmara depremi senaryosunun \u0130stanbul i\u00e7in do\u011frudan bir y\u0131k\u0131m anlam\u0131na gelmeyece\u011fini vurgulad\u0131. \u201cBu fay hatt\u0131 \u0130stanbul\u2019a yak\u0131n olsa da, y\u0131k\u0131c\u0131 etkisi kentin merkezini sarsacak d\u00fczeyde de\u011fil. Ancak Yalova ve \u00e7evresi i\u00e7in ciddi risk s\u00f6z konusu\u201d dedi.
